How do I assign a Practice activity?

You can assign any of the Practice activities and set a due

Whilst an activity is assigned the student can no longer use it to practice. There are two modes for assigning, Basic and Expert.

In Basic Mode:

Step 1: Click on Course from the top navigation bar and find the teacher-graded Practice activity you want to assign [see How do I view my course content? for further help].

Step 2: Click on Assign. If this activity has been assigned before, click on Assign Again. You will be taken to the assignment screen.

Step 3: Select the due date for the assignment. Either select the check box for one of the supplied due dates or set your own custom due date and time.

Step 4: If you want to enable the timer for the activity, which will set a time limit for students to complete the activity, click on Enable timer and input the hours/minutes. If you don’t want to set a timer, you can leave the timer disabled. Note that the timer will run from the point of student opening the assignment, so it is useful if you want to recreate exam conditions.

Step 5: Click Assign. The Practice activity has now been assigned to your course.

In Expert Mode:

In Expert mode you can further customise the assignment by overriding default settings and change the way the student undertakes the activity – e.g. number of attempts

Step 6: You can also adjust the settings for this activity. Use the check box to change the number of attempts, allocate the default gradebook views, turn on/off case sensitivity and punctuation checks, allow feedback and decide when answers are shown (if at all). (Useful if you want to assign the activity again later).
