How do I view course performance?

Choosing which score I see on the gradebook

A student may have multiple attempts at an activity. The score for each attempt is recorded. When viewing the Gradebook you can select (using the dropdown) which attempt is displayed.

  • First
  • Last (most recent)
  • Maximum
  • Average (across all attempts)

If you are in Expert mode, you can set which of these four views is the default view, for practice, assignments and tests.

Step 1: Click on Gradebook from the top navigation bar.

Step 2: Displayed will be your course content and Gradebook. If you want to change to another course, select from the Change course drop-down.

Step 3: The Gradebook is displaying the performance of all the students in your course for all content.

There are five views – practice only, assignments only, tests only, practice & tests, practice & assignments – you can select a view from the dropdown box above the gradebook

You can expand and shrink the gradebook view by use of the left/right arrows (<< and >>)

To view performance for a specific unit or section, use the expandable Table of Contents and click on the arrows next to the unit and section titles. Click  to open a section and click  to close up a section. The Gradebook will change display to show the course performance for the selected unit or section.

Step 4: To view performance on a Practice activity or Test, click on the title of the activity or test and the Gradebook will change display to show the course performance for the selected Practice activity or Test. By clicking on See report next to a particular student you can also see the student’s answers.
